What An Active Front End Converter Is
In trying to learn the basics of electronic circuit boards, one can find themselves very quickly overrun with bizarre talks of jargon. A term fairly common to the technologically inclined lexicon is active front end. Active front end, or AFE, represents a kind of converter that employs semiconductor switches in a way that processes faster than old formats. For example, think of a basic improvement to your life. You used to go to a video store for a DVD. Now you can download one. It is the same concept. An active front end is essentially working off these semiconductor switches to help use energy and to help store energy at the same time. Just like when you were going out to the store. It took a longer time to go there, as well, you expelled more energy in getting there. AFEs work in generally the same realm.
